Change Decatur is holding an informational meeting at the Decatur Library Madden Auditorium tonight at 6:00 p.m.
Change Decatur wants two questions on the February primary ballot.
One deals with the city of Decatur keeping the current city council system of government. For now, the appellate court ruled this first question can be on the ballot.
The court ruled against the second question. It asks if Decatur should adopt a strong mayor form of government, with aldermen instead of city council members.
The goal of tonight's meeting is to let the public know about Change Decatur's proposals.
More meetings are planned throughout the month and the group plans to speak to community groups.
Meanwhile Change Decatur is going through the appeals process at the Illinois Supreme Court after the high court refused to hear the group's emergency appeal to get both questions on the ballot.
The Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce is backing the person who's been battling Change Decatur in court.
